U21's Fitness Coach
We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool FC team as our U21’s Fitness Coach To deliver, manage and develop, sport science, strength & conditioning, and monitoring strategy to the U21’s age group whilst aligning with the academy sport science and medical department. You will ensure that the Academy (and the club) is seen as a leading provider of the best possible approaches to player fitness and conditioning. Contribute to the maintenance and development of a world class high performance environment at the Academy.
What will you be doing?
- Co-ordinate multi-disciplinary player development plans in order to enhance performance in line with club philosophies.
- Develop, design and implement an individualised football-specific fitness program for academy players.
- Manage and monitor all aspects of u21 player fitness, strength and overall conditioning.
- Implement injury prevention, conditioning and rehabilitation programs for youth players as part of a team with other medical, fitness and coaching staff.
- Conduct or assist in any physical examinations, fitness testing, or similar in conjunction with the medical, fitness and coaching staff.
- Develop and implement programs and technologies to monitor players’ adaptation to training and playing loads.
- Manage the logging of all player training/S&C exposures and testing data utilising the club’s AMS platform in line with club philosophy.
- Co-ordinate collection and interpretation of player testing and monitoring data.
- Attend match day to assist/implement on-field warm-ups and post-game recovery (including substitutes).
- Assist coaches in training design in line with club periodisation philosophies, considering physical content and player IDPs.
Who are we looking for?
To be successful in this role you will have previous experience of working within an elite Academy environment within a Physical Performance role. You hold a degree in Sport Science or equivalent discipline, ideally a postgraduate degree within Sport Science or equivalent. A current Strength and Conditioning qualification UKSCA or NSCA accredited, ideally CASES accredited. Along with the knowledge of the physiological demands of football including monitoring and evaluating training loads especially in young and developing adults.
