Specialist, Financial Reporting

About the role

We are looking for an Specialist, Financial Reporting to join the Finance team at Liverpool FC.

You will oversee a diverse range of workflows that support the delivery of all reporting requirements during month‑end and year‑end cycles.

What will you be doing?

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for designated departments across the club.
  • Monthly review of business support, operations, football and commercial P&L’s.
  • Review and prepare monthly utility control accounts posting any adjustments.
  • Review and update business rates control accounts.
  • Review, prepare and post all monthly recurring and prepayment journals.
  • Collate and prepare non-match day events schedule.
  • Prepare and maintain all analysis schedules so they are ready and included in the monthly management packs.
  • Reconciliation of retail stock Cost of Purchasing report posting adjustments for freight/duty.
  • Reconciliation of all allocated balance sheet control / Intercompany accounts monthly.
  • Preparation of any schedules requested as part of the external audit work.
  • Completion of national statistics surveys.
  • Preparation and review of player private expense deductions to be sent to payroll.
  • Supporting the qualified accountants daily to make sure all reporting deadlines are achieved and providing any analysis schedules required for the business.

Who are we looking for?

  • Strong knowledge of accounting methods and accounting standards to manage all internal/ external reporting requirements.
  • Strong Microsoft, Word & Excel skills
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and plan work in a changing and fast paced environment.
  • Can prioritise workload.
  • Good timekeeper
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must have a pro-active attitude with the ability to manage allocated workflows in an efficient way
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – to deal with a variety of different stakeholders
