About the role

We’re recruiting for a Skilled Groundsperson to work with the Club`s Grounds Team, assisting with a wide range of grounds maintenance duties on the Club`s grounds and sports facilities to provide the highest quality of pitch standards at our iconic Anfield Stadium.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and maintaining sporting facilities, including pitch surfaces, to recognised national standards and to the satisfaction of all users
  • Operating a range of horticultural equipment and machinery ensuring all is maintained in accordance with routine operating requirements.
  • Carrying out daily pitch maintenance duties including mowing, aerating, line marking, divoting, chemical folia spraying and fertilising.
  • Effectively maintaining all synthetic surfaces, following the required maintenance regime, ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met at all times.
  • Maintaining machinery and equipment ensuring it is cleaned to the highest standard and kept in good condition.
  • Ensure all work areas and equipment storage areas are properly cleaned, accessible at all times and comply with all Company Health & Safety guidelines.

Who are we looking for?

To be successful, you will have a track record of working within a grounds maintenance role, in particular within a sporting environment with experience of using machinery and relevant manual handling requirements. You will have a high level of attention to detail, good organisational skills and the ability to maintain a high standard of work in a fast-paced environment. In addition, you will have excellent communication skills with the ability to work both as part of a team and independently.

You will be qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Sports Turf and hold PA1, PA2 & PA6 spraying certificates.

First stage interviews will be held on Tuesday 27th September 2022, wherever possible candidates should be available to attend on this date.

This is Full-time a permanent position, working 40 hours per week, on a flexible 5 from 7 days basis, including match days. Flexibility is required as the post-holder will work from other sites, occasional evenings and match-days as required.
