About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a RTC Physiotherapist / Sports Therapist Lead! In this role you will report to the Academy Manager and First Team Physiotherapist and your job purpose will be to provision the physiotherapist service within the RTC for all players.
What will you be doing?

The role specific accountabilities are as followed:
- Ensuring the health of all players.
- Provision of pitch side cover at tournaments, friendly and league fixtures for the RTC.
- Provision of pitch side cover at training sessions (both evenings and weekends) for RTC.
- Diagnose and establish treatment and rehabilitation plans for relevant players for RTC.
- Provision of treatment and rehabilitation services for the RTC injured players.
- Liaise with key stakeholders regarding player availability and progress.
- Take part in CPD and attend in-house CPD training.
- Maintain contemporaneous medical notes to an excellent standard on the WPS (Women’s Performance System).
- Ensure high levels of professionalism and patient confidentiality.
- Implement preventative strategies including vaccinations.
- Liaise with football management staff to optimise player performance and overall health.
- Carry out and oversee all investigations as required.
- Attend consultations with specialists to ensure that appropriate treatment decisions are made, if requested.
- Maintain contemporaneous medical notes to an excellent standard on the WPS (Women’s Performance System).
The role holder will have accountability to the Club Medical Team, RTC Management Team including coaching staff, HRD and members of the HR team, CSO, FA and other football regulatory bodies, other football clubs and their representatives and internal and external medical providers.
Who are we looking for?
To be successful you must be a Chartered HCPC registered Physiotherapist and hold the FA Level 2 EMFAiF qualification, (Emergency Medical, First Aid Football). It is essential you have excellent communication and organisational skills, are reliable, conscientious and flexible in your approach and availability and are a member of the Health Professions Council.
You should have post-graduate experience of working in professional sport and have a recent and relevant professional experience in a sports performance environment. You should be able to demonstrate role model behaviours and have the ability to create an ethos which promotes high aspirations and achievement for all.
It is essential you understand different support strategies for player’s emotional needs and can demonstrate the ability to create positive working relationships with all key stakeholders. You should also be able and willing to work unsociable hours, including weekends.
It is also desirable for you to have the FA Level 4 ITMAF (Intermediate Trauma Medical Management in Football).
