RTC Goalkeeper Coach – Foundation Phase

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our team as a RTC Goalkeeper Coach! The purpose of this job is to be responsible for developing an elite, multi-disciplinary environment to maximise the development of goalkeepers in the regional talent club. You will be required to plan, deliver, record and evaluate coaching sessions in line with the club’s goalkeeping coach programme and provide matchday support.

What will you be doing?

  • To produce session plans for all goalkeeper coaching sessions in line with Liverpool Women FC Club Philosophy.
  • Liaise with the phase coaches and Technical Director on all matters relating to RTC Goal Keepers.
  • To be responsible for your age group, keeping records of players progression and producing reports for both players, parents and other coaches through the Women’s Performance System (WPS).
  • Work with the different phase coaches to enable a smooth transition for players to experience when going through the RTC pathway.
  • Strengthen the Female Player Pathway with structured opportunities.
  • Attend all relevant in-service training for RTC coaches and CPD updated.
  • Attend all Multi-Disciplinary Team and staff meetings.
  • Liaise with the RTC goalkeeper parents/guardians in regard to player’s progress at the academy through player review meetings.
  • Ensure you are aware of and keep updated, in regard to Safeguarding and best practice policies.
  • Ensure that the safety of participants, volunteers and staff is always prioritised.

Who are we looking for?

To be successful you will have the following qualifications: FA Level 2 Goalkeeping, FA Level 2 Outfield, the FA Youth Award and FA Safeguarding Children. It is also essential that you have an up-to-date Emergency Aid in Football (EFAiF).

You must have recent and relevant professional experience in a sports performance environment and must undertake continued Professional Development as organised by the club. You will have the ability to create an ethos which promotes high aspirations and achievement for all and are able to demonstrate the ability to create positive working relationships with all key stakeholders. You also must understand the pressures and commitments required for players, be able to work collaboratively in a team in a professional, pressurised environment, demonstrate role model behaviours and have excellent communication skills. It is also important that you are reliable, conscientious, and flexible in your approach and availability with willingness to work unsociable hours including weekends.

It is desirable if you have: the FA Advanced Youth Award, an UEFA B license, FA Talent ID Qualifications, Emergency Aid in Football (EFAiF), previous goalkeeping coaching experience at academy level and/or knowledge of working in an academy structure.
