About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool FC team as a PDP Phase Analyst. In this role, you will have responsibility for the collection, interpretation and presentation of technical analysis/performance data for the Academy Players in the PDP Phase.
What will you be doing?
- Ensure all age group games are filmed and coded.
- Ensure all competitive fixtures are sent to Statsbomb so they can be analysed.
- Ensure all games are uploaded to Hudl as soon as possible after the fixture is completed and shared with the team and coaching staff.
- Ensure all age group training sessions are filmed and coded when necessary.
- Provide pre-match support to the age group in the form of clips, presentations and set plays when necessary.
- Provide video clips on forthcoming opposition when necessary.
- Create both individual and team motivational videos when necessary.
- Work alongside the Head of Performance Education to help aid in the development of the club’s philosophy through the use of ‘Best Practice’ from training & match clips.
- Work closely with the age group coaches in creating ‘Team’ content that with support in the delivery of de-brief meetings to the players.
- Keep up to speed with technical developments within the discipline of performance analysis and help ensure the department workflows are at the forefront of technology.
- Ensure all content produced follows the department guidelines on format, quality, and presentation.
- Ensure all player and team information is stored accurately on the academy servers and can be easily accessed when required.
- To help where necessary in recording and collating training and match footage in line with EPPP regulations.
- To ensure game understanding is constantly evolving by undertaking coaching courses and any other relevant qualifications when appropriate.
Who are we looking for?
To be successful in this role, you will have a degree (or equivalent) in a sports science related field. Ideally, you will hold coaching or teaching qualifications. You will have experience in the PDP phase or higher at a Category 1 or 2 Club (or equivalent). You will have detailed knowledge of the technical and tactical aspects of football and youth football game, with effective teaching and communication skills and can build good working relationships at all levels. Your credentials will showcase your ability to prioritise workload in a demanding environment whilst striving to produce work of the highest standard.
With your high level of computer competency, you will be proficient in the use of various analysis software & programmes including Hudl SportsCode, Hudl Studio, Hudl Insight iMovie, Tableau, Coach Paint & have the ability to read data and statistics (Statsbomb, Instat, Wyscout) and use it in its most effective form to present back (Keynote, Canva, Excel) to players & coaching staff.
It is essential that you have a flexible and dedicated approach to work, enabling certain tasks/demands to be conducted during unsociable hours. Being self-motivated, you are comfortable working independently or within a team. You can work reliably under pressure meetings, tight deadlines and adhere to strict processes whilst maintaining high standards and confidentiality.
