International Retail Marketing Manager

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool FC team as an International Retail Marketing Manager. The role will be a part of a newly shaped LFC Retail marketing team whose purpose is to drive awareness, interest, desire, conversion, and retention across various LFC Retail sales channels, products, and services in the UK and across the globe.  

 

You will support the Director, Retail Marketing and the LFC Retail International team in owning the international partner customer journey and the planning and execution of the LFC Retail international partner marketing strategy through insight driven guidance and approving international partner content - you will ensure we deliver category leading campaigns to our international supporters via international retail partner channels and third-party marketing channels.  

 

Working alongside and partnering with the Manager for Retail Marketing will ensure our direct-to-consumer international marketing campaigns are on trend, fully optimised and in line with our international strategy. This will be achieved whilst also ensuring relevant support for our international retail partners via Club owned platforms.

 

What will you be doing?

 

This is a pivotal role in the international growth of LFC Retail that requires an exceptional people person combined with a strong knowledge of various marketing functions and successful creative. Confidence in curating and communicating your marketing strategies and ideas to both internal stakeholders and partners is key. To succeed here, you must love working in a fast paced and everchanging environment as football retail is different. To achieve success, we’ll be looking for this role to innovate our rights holders’ businesses by supporting them to deliver a range of successful marketing campaigns and experiences.  

 

You will develop and implement the LFC Retail international marketing strategy, trading calendar and relevant customer journeys and be the go-to person for LFC Retail international partners for strategic marketing support. You will provide an always on service to our international partners regarding what success looks like from a LFC Retail marketing perspective as well as being an advocate for the brand, ensuring each partner understands the Club, it’s supporters and how to successfully plan and execute LFC retail marketing campaigns.

 

Using your knowledge of marketing channels, previous campaign insight and the Clubs brand guidelines you will approve or improve all submitted LFC Retail international partner marketing assets and campaigns.  

 

Other key responsibilities include:

 

  • Lead on the marketing of Club managed international retail stores in the Republic of Ireland and any LFC Retail managed pop-ups stores across the full marketing mix.
  • Join and lead regular partner meetings to understand rights holder marketing objectives and product/promotional strategies.
  • Share previews of relevant campaigns and content to internal and external stakeholders to ensure they can plan successful support of the campaigns and their objectives.
  • Ensure completed campaigns are measured and reported against agreed objectives and KPIs with insights, learnings and recommendations included as standard.
  • Work with our international retail rights holders and various internal and external stakeholder to deliver successful supporter and/or media focused events.  
  • Identify and build relationships with Liverpool FC colleagues to ensure LFC Retail international products and campaigns are placed in relevant positions and energy moments across the Clubs digital and physical estate. Work closely with channel owners ensure consistent and successful delivery across all said channels and content.

 

Who are we looking for?

 

To be successful in this role you will have proven ability to research, compile and project manage multi-channel marketing plans and achieve success through cross functional working within a team, across a wider business and/or agencies and, have an understanding of organic social media channels and their relevant products and audiences.  

 

You must be able to foster strong working relationships with external organisations and individuals and will have case studies to prove effective uses of different marketing strategies/campaigns across a variety of marketing channels. 

 

There will be Global travel with this role sometimes at relatively short notice so flexibility around this will be important

This is a full-time permanent role working 35 hours per week. Your main base will be our Chapel Street office which is close to local bars, shops and restaurants and has great views over the river Mersey.
