Live Gallery/Studio Production Assistant

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity available for a keen and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Live Gallery/Studio Production Assistant. In this role, you’ll provide production and administrative support to the media department to ensure the smooth and efficient running of all live and pre-recorded programmes. In addition, you will support the Channel Scheduler with daily scheduling duties.

This opportunity will suit someone who has confidence to work within a live TV environment and can work calmly under pressure.

What will you be doing?

  • Driving continuous improvement throughout production and contribute to and maintain a creative and collaborative culture.
  • Ensuring all programmes run to schedule and to time.
  • Filtering and handling all production paperwork and digital formats accurately, efficiently, and confidentially and have a thorough and accurate approach to record keeping.
  • Distributing scripts/running orders, digital formats to the gallery team, outside broadcast teams and presenters.
  • Working alongside the Director and Producer to provide pre-recorded/live Gallery PA and Script Supervisor duties. Before transmission, assisting the producers with building scripts and running orders using Tinkerlist software.
  • Monitoring the times of each item and making sure the production runs to its scheduled duration.
  • Watching and collating VT details and updating Tinkerlist.
  • Uploading the script to autocue and making sure all iPads are charged and accessible for presenters.
  • Providing clear information to ensure a smooth programme transmission for getting on and off air on LFCTV, LFCTV GO and social platforms.
  • Accurately timing all programmes, counting in and out of VTs, counting presenters through each item, how long they have left to complete chat/interview or how long is left on a VT. 
  • On outside broadcasts, checking talkback and communications to Chapel Street.
  • Providing edit notes for the edit.
  • Uploading and accurately checking all schedules in the play-out system; accurately police permitted advertising minutage provided by OFCOM regulations.
  • Supporting the director in the preparation of the studio.
  • Supporting producers and APs with editorial research, show preparation and guest liaison.

Who are we looking for?

To be successful, you will have a firm understanding of TV and digital media productions. Ideally, you will have TV gallery and studio experience and the ability to time keep within live media productions. You will have sports media knowledge, specifically in football and have outside broadcast knowledge. Being highly articulate, you can build strong working relationships and be an excellent team player. Having an eye for detail, you will be organised and able to work quickly and accurately under pressure in a studio environment.
