Apprenticeship Programme
Community Sport & Health Officer Level 3 Certificate
This apprenticeship role will lead towards achievement of a Level 3 qualification of Community Sport & Health Officer. Training, support and development will be provided in order to help the apprentice progress towards full competence across the required range of activities. Achievement of this qualification at level 3 reflects the ability to identify and use relevant understanding, methods and skills to complete tasks and address problems that have a measure of complexity. It includes taking responsibility for initiating and completing tasks and procedures as well as exercising autonomy and judgement within limited parameters.
The apprentice will work in the Sport & Physical Activity team, with exposure to other areas of the business in order to experience a wide range of activities and situations.
What will you be doing?
- Update LFC Foundation’s reporting database
- Take responsibility for delivery of the Sports & Physical Activity programmes in a various environments
- Plan and prepare prior to delivery using Sports Session Planner and ensure that careful considerations are made for all abilities, ages and SEND considerations.
- Ensure that all activities are delivered in line with the current LFC Foundation curriculum and objectives
- Work closely with primary school teachers to provide support and advice to improve their confidence to deliver PE.
- Organise and deliver teacher training workshops in designated primary schools to staff as part of the Game On Nike programme.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with LFC Foundation partner schools and their key staff including, head teachers, PE coordinators, receptionists and staff.
- Liaise directly with partner schools to support and promote additional LFC Foundation activity
- Collect the appropriate monitoring and evaluation documentation and assist in the upkeep of VIEWS online monitoring and evaluation system. This must be done in a timely and effective manner
- Ensure all activities are correctly monitored with the appropriate risk assessment and health and safety measures
- Willingness to improve through continuous personal development and courses.
- The well-being of young people is paramount at the LFC Foundation, you will be expected to understand safeguarding policies and procedures
- Support holiday camps and half-term activation
- Attend and contribute to team meetings
- Ensure LFC Foundation quality and safeguarding standards are achieved and maintained at all times
Who are we looking for?
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience in signposting young people to further opportunities.
- Understanding of different teaching and learning styles.
- Proven track record of delivering sports and classroom-based education in schools and/or community settings that engage young people of all ages and abilities.
- Awareness of safeguarding issues when working with children and young people.
- Awareness of diversity and equality challenges in sport & football.
- Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders and communicate effectively.
- Qualifications in Football coaching and/or sports.
- Understanding of the LFC Foundation sport and football programmes.
- Empathy and commitment to the long-term development of sport & football.
- Passion for young people, the community and making a change.

Why should you apply?
This is a Fixed-Term Contract opportunity for an initial period of 18 months, working 35 hours per week, 5 from 7 days with some weekend work required. The role is based at Anfield Sports & Community Centre, Liverpool, however the post holder will be required to work from other locations across Merseyside and be willing to travel within England and Wales.
