LFCW Pro Game Academy Head of Coaching

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool Football Club Women’s team as a Pro Game Academy Head of Coaching. The purpose of this role is to identify and develop talented individuals, so that players from Liverpool FC Women’s Pro Game Academy progress within our player development pathway and become an integral part of the success of the Liverpool FC Women’s first team. This will be achieved by supporting every individual to fulfil their potential within a high-performance training and playing environment and culture that supports personal and professional development with a dual career focus.
 
What will you be doing?
 
  • To work in close collaboration with the LFCW first team coaching staff, to embed the LFCW club values, playing and coaching philosophy throughout the PGA.
  • To lead and manage all the PGA coaching staff (U21s and U16s), including identifying appropriate continuous professional coach development opportunities from the group and individuals.
  • To plan and deliver high quality pitch sessions for the LFCW PGA U21s squad, in collaboration with other members of the PGA staff.
  • To plan and deliver high quality preparation and review sessions for the LFCW PGA U21s squad, in collaboration with other members of the PGA staff.
  • To prepare, deliver and provide feedback on a regular basis to players and parents/carers on individual player development plans.
  • To prepare players to transition and compete in senior professional football.
  • To work in collaboration with the PGA Manager, to plan a season long PGA curriculum which includes an on-pitch training curriculum that is clearly aligned with the LFCW first team.
  • To work in collaboration with the PGA Manager, to implement a robust talent identification and recruitment strategy, to ensure we consistently have the highest calibre of local talent within our player development pathway at LFCW.  
  • To work in collaboration with the LFC Foundation staff to ensure alignment of the player pathway and connectivity between the Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) and LFC Foundation age group squad (U14) and the PGA.
  • To attend and contribute to FA CPD events and further training as required.
 
 
Who are we looking for?
 
To be successful in this role, you will have experience working with and developing players at elite club level or national level. You will have extensive experience of leading and managing a staff team with line management responsibilities and a strong understanding and in-depth knowledge of the Women & Girls’ talent pathway. As well as this, talent identification and recruitment experience are needed for this position, and you should have recent and relevant previous professional experience in a performance sport environment. 
 
It is important you can create positive working relationships with all internal/ external stakeholders and have excellent communication and organisational skills. You will need to be proficient in Microsoft office software such as PowerPoint or Key notes to be able to deliver presentations and must be proficient in using performance analysis software preferably HUDL. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to diversity, equal opportunities, and continuous professional development and able to work collaboratively as part of a team in a professional environment. 
 
Essential Qualifications for this position
  • UEFA A Licence
  • FA Safeguarding Children Course 
  • FA Level 1 Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAiF) or FA Emergency First Aid

This is a permanent, full-time position working 35 hours per week. This role includes working afternoons, evenings, weekends, and PGA match fixtures and you will need to work across multiple sites.
