Junior Merchandiser (Clothing)

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool FC team within our Merchandise Operation as a Junior Merchandiser (Clothing) on a fixed term contract. You will be responsible for overseeing the supply chain to ensure efficiency and adherence to critical path timelines, whilst providing insights to help shape the longer-term sourcing and trading strategy for the company.
 
You will be an integral stakeholder helping with key business activities and working cross functionally with various departments to deliver the trading plan and business KPI’s. You will run the day to day category activity and seek to maximise commercial opportunities through effective trading and inventory management, whilst ensure that the departmental back- office administration is completed in line with the critical path and with complete accuracy. 
You will also be the central point of contact for collation of all product attribute information and set up details.
 
What will you be doing?
 
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager of Own Brand product to understand the business strategy and focussed to support the delivery of business growth.
  • Complete range planning and analysis on a regular basis, and present planning framework on a quarterly basis to the Product team and wider business.
  • You will drive improved performance and fan experience through exceptional stock management
  • Manage Supply base in line with business demands and operational best practices.
  • Help develop and implement new strategies to minimise markdown and grow profit
  • Owning the relevant areas of the critical path. Challenging risk and agree actions with the team to ensure that together you achieve on time launch
  • Manage seasonal capacity planning across multiple product ranges, ensuring full supply chain alignment of plans, requirements, and constraints.
  • Work to the Commercial Trading Calendar for consumer launch dates for ranges and collaborations.
  • Manage all the product systems set ups with total accuracy and ensure sales channels are fully aligned to maximise sales.
  • Control and manage costs relating to supply chain, including shipment terms and manufacturing costs.
  • Manage all purchase order placement, timely delivery schedules, stock receipts, stock transfers, pricelists including markdowns
  • Merchandising of product additions and deletions and managing seasonal capacity planning
  • Work with the Merchandising & Supply chain Admin Manager to ensure category specific tasks are completed within the critical path milestones.
  • Support with the analysis and business requirements for stock allocations and work closely with the Merchandising Admin Manager to implement and complete.
  • Create good relationships with suppliers and have regular contact.
  • Weekly and Monthly Reporting to the Senior Management Team of Stock and Sales performance for the category.
 
Who are we looking for?
 
To be successful in this role, you will have experience (at least 2 years) of working in a merchandising or supply chain function, ideally in the Retail Sector and experience of managing a supplier base.
 
You will have strong planning credentials and the ability to motivate, inspire and lead those around you as well as achieving targets. It is important you have experience in stock management. The role warrants wider commercial thinking to engage and influence key stakeholders across the business and ensure profit growth is core to all decisions made. 
 
The right candidate will have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills and be able to manage their time effectively. You will have a logical mindset with great problem-solving skills and attention to detail. It is vital you can work on multiple tasks to fixed deadlines.

This is a full-time fixed term role for 12 months, working 35 hours per week. This is a hybrid position, and your main base will Distribution Centre, Whiston.
