About the role
We’ve got an exciting opportunity to join the Academy as the Head of Academy Recruitment U9 – U14.
What will you be doing?
- Provide oversight, direction and leadership for all recruitment activities U9 – U14
- Drive and facilitate decision making for grassroots and elite players that reside within 1hr 30mins of the Academy
- Play a leading role in the club’s purist of elite local players. This includes making decisions on which players to pursue, strategizing about the best approach and engaging with clubs about player availability.
- Discuss and present target players with elite potential to key stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Continue to develop relationships with elite and grassroots clubs in the Northwest of England.
- Maintain an expert knowledge of current LFC players for squad planning purposes
- Ensure all scouts work within the rules and uphold club values.
- Participate and contribute to the Academy Recruitment Management Team at regular meetings and help shape the department culture
- Oversee the deliver age specific CPD for U9 - U14 staff and ensure that succession planning is in place.
- Any other activities required and agreed by Head of Senior Academy Recruitment.
- Abide by the FA & LFC Safeguarding rules and regulations working with young children.
Who are we looking for?
To be successful you will hold an FA Level 2 in Talent ID and have completed the FA safeguarding children’s course. You’ll be able to demonstrate where you have significantly contributed to an Academy recruitment strategy at a Category 1 or Category 2 Academy. You’ll have extensive experience working as a Scout, reporting to and recommending players to a Category 1 or Category 2 Academy. You will be able to demonstrate an in depth and recent knowledge of Academy players in the Northwest of England and be able to show experience of using video to support the recommendation of a player.

This is a full-time permanent role working 35 hours per week on a flexible 5 from 7 days basis including evenings and weekends. Your main base will be our Academy, located in Kirkby.
