Commercial Lawyer

About the role

We are looking for a lawyer with an excellent knowledge of contract law and a good all-round understanding of commercial matters to join our in-house legal team. In this newly created role, you will work closely with our Director, Legal & Company Secretary in the day-to-day provision of support and advice to other teams and departments within our businesses.

What will you be doing?

This is a diverse role where you will be working in a team who provide advice and support across a broad range of subjects, you will concentrate primarily on the following areas:

  • charity matters and contracts;
  • capital projects/construction contracts;
  • planning, licensing and legal regulatory matters;
  • procurement;
  • hospitality sales, ticketing and major events; 
  • property and real estate management matters;
  • litigation; and 
  • corporate and company law.

A key aspect to this role is providing support to our charity (Liverpool FC Foundation) and there is an expectation that you will develop your expertise in this area.  Notwithstanding this your work will be varied and you should be open to being engaged on a broad range of legal topics.

Who are we looking for?

To be successful, you will have 2+ years PQE and have experience of negotiating and drafting commercial agreements. Ideally you will have knowledge of charity and/or construction matters.  You’ll be able to demonstrate a willingness to develop your proficiency and work enthusiastically in charity law and other new areas of law.

Your main base will be our Head Office in Liverpool City Centre which is close to local bars, shops and restaurants and has great views over the river Mersey and you will spend time working with our Foundation management team at their offices in Anfield.
