About the role
Here at Liverpool Football Club, we are recruiting for Casual Match Day Stewards. This is an opportunity to be part of the team ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all supporters on match days.
Who are we looking for?
You will be a confident, clear communicator, particularly when speaking with supporters, often in confrontational situations. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to write reports and have a basic understanding of conflict management.
You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to build effective working partnerships with outside agencies, work in a pressured environment and manage it with a focus and be able to remain calm and give clear instructions to staff.
What will you be doing?
- Collaborate with the stewarding team to deliver a safe and secure event.
- Ensure compliance with stadium regulations by all spectators.
- Respond promptly and effectively to any incidents of disorder.
- Be visible and accessible to offer support to spectators.
- Conduct personal searches of spectators entering the stadium.
- Document and report any recordable incidents with clear written reports.
- Be prepared to brief the extended team, to ensure they are given clear and concise instruction.
- Occasionally deputise for Team Manager at briefings.
- As directed by the Team Manager, respond to incidents as required.
- Be aware of conflict management and be prepared to take decisive action in line with training and guidance.
According to the SGSA (Sports Grounds Safety Authority), Stewards must have a Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety (or previous equivalent) or be working towards it. This must be completed within 12 months, dated from the start of their first induction training.
