About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool FC team as an Associate, Lead System Administrator.
This role is critical in supporting and developing the Club’s order management systems and post-purchase experience infrastructure. You will lead the configuration, optimisation and integration of core platforms including NetSuite, PeopleVox, UPS WMS, Scurri, and Narvar (a post-purchase experience platform used for order tracking and communications), ensuring seamless order fulfilment and customer satisfaction. This includes managing and enhancing back-office connectivity via Alumio (iPaaS) and supporting our core commerce engine across all retail channels.
This position focuses on operational system performance and order lifecycle efficiency—less on financial reporting—and requires strong technical and stakeholder collaboration skills to continuously improve system reliability, data flow, and integration across our post-purchase and logistics technology landscape.
What will you be doing?
System Administration and Support:
· Manage and support Alumio (iPaaS), NetSuite, WFX PLM, and all order fulfilment-related systems, ensuring they are configured, stable, and aligned with business needs.
· Provide system support across order management and warehouse operations platforms, including PeopleVox, UPS WMS, Scurri, and Narvar.
· Perform upgrades, maintenance, and performance tuning to ensure operational resilience.
· Monitor systems using tools like Datadog to proactively identify and resolve issues.
· Collaborate with business units to roll out feature enhancements and process improvements.
· Provide frontline technical support for stakeholders, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of issues.
· Deliver training and documentation to ensure end users are confident and capable with system functionality.
System Development:
· Lead the evolution of a scalable, modern back-office system architecture.
· Manage APIs and integrations that support seamless data flow across order, warehouse, and customer service systems.
· Support the integration and automation of fulfilment and post-purchase processes into the Club’s broader tech stack, including the commerce engine and customer platforms.
· Ensure compliance with data privacy and cybersecurity best practices.
· Drive innovation by implementing system upgrades, partner tools, and new post-purchase technologies to improve order flow and customer experience.
· Collaborate with key internal stakeholders across Retail, Distribution, Fan Services, Membership, and E-Commerce.
· Work with third-party partners across ERP, middleware, EPOS, data warehouse, and fulfilment systems.
· Oversee development testing cycles and document outcomes for resolution and knowledge-sharing.
· Establish best practices in system integration, optimisation, and documentation.
Performance & Monitoring:
· Maintain robust monitoring processes to ensure uptime across fulfilment and order systems.
· Minimise business interruption by proactively managing alerts and errors across platforms.
· Provide out-of-hours support for critical system operations, particularly across Distribution Centre and order flow technologies.
· Help define and support SOPs around inventory control, picking/packing, and order processing.
Project Management:
· Lead and support projects using Agile methodologies and collaborative planning tools.
· Manage timelines, risks, and deliverables while working closely with external vendors and internal stakeholders.
· Promote an agile mindset and iterative improvement culture across all system workstreams.
General:
· Work closely with senior management across Merchandise, Retail operations, Retail Product Management & Trading to align system capabilities with commercial goals.
· Provide escalation support and act as a key stakeholder in maintaining sales channel uptime and customer order fulfilment continuity.
Who are we looking for?
To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience in back-office systems development and integration, particularly with middleware systems, ERP & PLM. You will have experience managing a team of developers, analysts, and system administrators. It is important you have direct line management experience, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team culture. A comprehensive experience in system support processes to ensure limited system downtime and business interruption. You will have ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously using Agile methodologies and project management tools such as Jira and Asana.
The right candidate will have excellent communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders. As well as, excellent business and financial awareness, including experience in financial reporting and business intelligence tools. You will have an analytical approach to all aspects of data, with strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven decision-making process. You will have a proven track record of implementing successful back-office technology strategies.
Essential Functional / Technical Skills
• Experience in creating reports in SQL, ASP, VB, and HTML
• Experience with iPaaS solutions
• Experience of MS Visual Studio, Oracle Developer, SQL Server management studio and MS Office packages
• Experience and knowledge of API's and driving end of end developments and integrations.
• Experience of Power BI or other cloud-based MI reporting suites.
• Experience of development tracking software such a Jira, Bitbucket and ensuring that full management and ownership of code and business risk/continuity planning.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and data privacy regulations to ensure secure system operations.
