Assistant Buyer, Souvenirs & Gifting

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool FC team as an Assistant Buyer, Souvenirs & Gifting. You will be working in our Product team, this role will be responsible for the development of specific seasonal ranges of hardware, in line with critical path deadlines.  

 

We would like to hear from individuals with Retail Hardware Product Buying and Development experience gained within a sports or lifestyle brand. 

 

What will you be doing? 

 

  • Tracking of samples from suppliers and ensuring the Red Seal and Gold Seal samples are received and hit the specified target dates within the critical path. 

  • Collating data and information relating to Red and Gold Seal samples and presenting back to wider teams for them to make an informed decision on any potential issues. 

  • Collate and document supplier information relating to seasonal product ranges in accordance with the critical path. 

  • Minute taking during key meetings and documenting processes, to ensure there is an accurate record of the meeting and any action points. 

  • Create products with the required features, costs and lead times for your specific ranges with a given critical path. 

  • Effectively negotiate costs with suppliers.  

  • Working with the Senior Manager, Associate Buyer and Senior Specialist Designer, to continue to generate new product ideas and offerings.  

  • Analyse the market and complete trend analysis and competitor shopping/trade fairs which will enable product recommendations to be made and inform the development of new products. 

  • Prepare for and present at the relevant range reviews and sign off, where key stakeholders and senior commercial decision makers will agree products being presented, to then complete any follow up actions. 

  • Assess prototype and pre-production samples with the team against each specification and advise any amendments/improvements to the relevant manufacturer. 

  • Working with Manager – QA, to ensure that product, qc and ethical standards are met.  

  • Ensure the product samples, Red Seal and Gold Seal samples are well documented and that product range displays are updated to align with the most current range and showcased the highest standard. 

 

Who are we looking for? 

 

To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge of a diverse range of hardware products including Stationery, Toys & Games, Food & Drink, Souvenirs, Sports Accessories, and more. You will also have good commercial awareness and knowledge of the competitor market and consumer trends within the product categories. You will have previous experience of working in a similar position and managing relevant categories and driving product innovation. 

 

Strong communication skills are a must for this role alongside the ability to present information in a clear manner. This is a collaborative role, so you will have the ability to build strong working relationships and the skills to influence and persuade others.  

 

We work in a fast paced and dynamic environment; therefore, you will need to be organised, manage your time well, and have experience of juggling multiple projects at once. You will have strong administration skills and be comfortable in using all Microsoft Office packages.

This is a full-time permanent role working 35 hours per week. Your main base will be our Distribution Centre Office in Whiston, Liverpool as part of the product development team.
